What is the ” PM-KISAN Installment ” ?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the eighth installment of over Rs 19,000 crore to more than 9.5 crore farmer-beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PMKSN) scheme on Friday.
It was learnt that nearly 40 lakh out of 70 lakh (approx) farmers of West Bengal have registered themselves to avail the PMKSN scheme.
How does it work ?
The central government sends money through the PFMS into the nodal account of the state government. From the nodal account, the money instantly transferred to the beneficiary farmers bank accounts.
According to the latest update , about 7.03 lakh farmers received the 1st Installment of Rs 2000 each.
My views
This policy benefits the farmers who contribute in the major sector of production in India , i.e , Primary Sector. This is very helpful for them because even if farmers are engaged in work they sometimes don’t get benefit from their products . Also ,due to lack of communication facilities in remote areas there is less awareness amongst the people about the pandemic and hence is beneficial for them.
